Working with me
Let's do it!Supervision with me is easy-going, but intentional. We’re going to talk about your clients. We’re going to talk about interventions, theories, and skills. But most importantly, we’re going to talk about you. Like with my counseling clients, I promise to bring my A game, to show up and be willing to dive deep. In return, I ask that you show up with an open mind, trust the process, and give it your best.
I believe in taking a systemic approach to therapy - meaning we’ll often (when helpful!) talk about the systems that we operate within (family, political, capitalism, etc.) that impact you and your clients; I employ a social justice, trauma-informed lens to all of my work. The modalities I pull from the most as a clinician are attachment theory, relational-cultural theory, ACT, and DBT.
You might be interested to know that I previously ran the clinical internship program at a local university counseling center for five years so I have in-depth, first-hand knowledge of what it’s like to be a trainee and to meet you where you’re at developmentally.
Flexibility and curiosity are always prioritized, and my goal is to make supervision feel as safe as possible for you to grow into the clinician you were meant to be.
Policies
-
Scheduled supervision times are reserved especially for you and without 48 hours’ notice, it is difficult for me to fill your time slot with another appointment. If an appointment is missed or cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, you will be billed according to the scheduled fee policy, at the full cost of the scheduled session.

Supervisees agree to maintain active liability insurance, and will provide a copy to me indicating coverage of me as an "additional insured" on the policy.
Supervisees agree to abide by their Code of Ethics and by the licensure code outlined by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors.
Supervisees agree to maintain a log of their direct and indirect hours, including a list of clients seen, and agree to maintain documentation as outlined by their site.

To clearly and completely understand the licensure requirements, I strongly encourage you to read over the documents that can be found on the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors’ website: ncblcmhc.org.
If you are an LCMHCA working toward full licensure, you will need 100 hours of clinical supervision (1 hour per 40 hours of clinical work).
75 of those 100 hours need to be individual supervision. "Individual" supervision can include one or two supervisees, meeting for one hour/week.
"Group" supervision can include up to 12 supervisees, but must meet for two hours/week. I only see up to eight in a group.
There are three options for doing supervision:
individually,
in pairs (but still counting toward the 75 of 100 individual hours needed),
in groups (but only 25 of the 100 hours can be group so the majority must be "individual"--whether by yourself or in a pair).
